Treatment is designed to fit each individual client, taking into consideration age, gender, cultural background, religion, and unique life experiences.

About Sigi (Sigalit)

Sigi Ashwal holds both a Bachelor of Arts degree in Education and a Masters of Science degree in Mental Health Counseling from Nova Southeastern University. She is an active member of the American Counseling Association, and has had intensive training in Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) via the Beck Institute, the leading and original international source for CBT.

Ms. Ashwal treats children, adolescents and adults, and has been been working with children of all ages (and their families) for more than twenty-five years. She has vast experience in child development and behavior management, and utilizes play therapy techniques to treat children who have suffered trauma. Ms. Ashwal has also worked with at-risk and delinquent youth referred by the Department of Justice.

What insurance do you take?

We currently accept Cigna and Humana insurance. We also see clients Out of Network.
Because I strongly believe that everyone should have the ability to access a mental health provider, regardless of their financial situation, I offer the option of a sliding scale for people who have no health coverage.

Do you do telehealth?

Yes. Telehealth has been used for a variety of practical reasons and it is currently being used as an alternative for receiving treatment while maintaining our social distancing.

How long is a session?

A session is an hour-long with the last 10 minutes dedicated to clients giving their feedback about the session and to the assignment of an action plan (“homework”) for the purpose of reinforcing what was learned in session in real-life situations.
